At our PCBA facility, production quality is supported by a carefully configured SMT line that combines automated board handling, precision solder paste printing, flexible placement, controlled reflow, and automated optical inspection(AOI). From the first PCB loaded onto the line to the final OK/NG sorting step, each stage is designed to support consistent, repeatable manufacturing for our customers.
1. From Auto Loading to Solder Paste Printing
The line begins with an Auto Loader. PCBs are placed into the loading area and fed one by one into the solder paste printer. This section includes a fully automatic solder paste printer with a maximum board size of 400×400 mm, as well as a semi-automatic printer size of 1300×500 mm, which is typically used for larger boards. Printing precision is a critical factor at this stage, as it directly affects the accuracy of subsequent component placement. After printing, the solder paste deposition can be visually verified to ensure the board is ready for placement.

2. High-Speed and Flexible Component Placement
The next stage uses a pick-and-place machine equipped with 10 nozzles. It supports board sizes up to 1200×400 mm, handles component sizes down to 0402, and is rated at up to 50,000 dots per hour. A second pick-and-place machine is also used, featuring a high-resolution back camera. By operating two placement machines together, the line can process approximately 80 types of components, supporting greater flexibility for different product designs.

3. Insertion, Transfer, and Reflow
For connectors and similar components, the line includes an insertion machine. A transfer conveyor then moves the PCB into the reflow oven. The reflow oven has 10 temperature zones, allowing precise control of the temperature profile to support reliable solder joint formation.

4. AOI and Final Sorting
After reflow, boards pass through Automated Optical Inspection (AOI). Using high-resolution cameras and image software, the AOI system compares each board against a sample PCB. It can detect missing or wrong components, cold solder, bridging, and other issues without touching the board. The inspection process is fast and consistent, with approximately 0.3 seconds per inspection area, and the total number of areas depends on the PCB size.

The final machine is the OK/NG board unloader, which automatically sorts qualified and non-qualified boards based on the AOI inspection results.

5. Before Packing: fixture-based functional testing
Before packing, every board passes through the final quality gate: fixture-based functional testing. This is the last process step before shipment and serves as the final line of defense in our quality testing. Using custom-designed test fixtures, we verify that each board functions correctly and check for issues such as brightness anomalies. This step helps ensure that every board delivered to the customer operates properly and meets our quality requirements.
